This city is one of my big favorites on my travel wish list. This unmanageable, convoluted, but perfectly organized labyrinth, pulsing and simultaneously soothing, appeals greatly to me. Because my huge suite does not have a view of Tokyo Tower, I exchange it for a smaller room in which I can see the emblem of the city through my window. Even though I have to split my canvas through the middle so that it fits in the room, I can paint an extreme horizontal Diptychon format, which more than does justice to my panorama. My workspace cannot be more authentic in this mega-metropolis. I am impressed by the interconnection of the people. They appear to be completely dedicated to each other and I wish I could take a part of it home with me.

Diese Stadt ist einer meiner größten Favoriten auf meiner Reisewunschliste. Mich reizt dieses unüberschaubare, verschachtelte, perfekt organisierte Labyrinth, pulsierend und gleichzeitig beruhigend. Da meine riesige Suite nicht zum Tokyo Tower ausgerichtet ist, tausche ich sie gegen ein kleines Zimmer, in dem ich das Wahrzeichen im Fenster sehen kann. Zwar muss ich jetzt meine Leinwand in der Mitte teilen, damit sie in den Raum passt, aber dadurch kann ich ein extrem querformatiges Diptychon malen, das meinem Panorama mehr als gerecht wird. Authentischer kann mein Arbeitsplatz in dieser Mega-metropole wohl nicht sein. Mich beeindruckt das Miteinander der Menschen, sie wirken voller Hingabe für einander und ich wünschte, ich könnte etwas davon mit nach Hause nehmen.
