I am deeply impressed by the heartfelt greeting I receive as I enter the hotel, and because my time is short here, I begin to paint immediately. A journalist is waiting for me with some interview questions. I quickly realize that my canvas is too small for the scenery, which is taking place before my eyes. With that I agree that the work will remain in the place it was created and will find a lucky owner there. In my new painting, clouds group together in varying gray tones and dominate the unique atmosphere of the harbor, mountains and ocean. I open the balcony door just a crack and I can hear the humming of the water planes, which are taking off and landing in front of me. I would have loved to see Vancouver from high up above, but my journeys are leading me in the direction of warmer climes.

Tief beeindruckt bin ich von der herzlichen Willkommensbegrüßung im Hotel. Und da ich nur sehr kurze Zeit hier bin, beginne ich sofort mit dem Malen. Ein Journalist wartet bereits mit Interviewfragen. Ich bemerke schnell, dass meine Leinwand zu klein ist für meine Szenerie, die sich vor meinen Augen abspielt. Somit bin ich einverstanden, dass mein angefangenes Werk am Ort der Entstehung einen glücklichen Besitzer findet. In mein neues Bild gruppieren sich Wolken in sämtlichen Grautönen und dominieren die außergewöhnliche Stimmung von Hafen, Bergen und Meer. Ich öffne die Balkontür nur einen Spalt und höre das Brummen der Wasserflugzeuge, die vor mir starten und landen. Zu gern hätte ich Vancouver von ganz oben gesehen, aber mein Weg führt weiter Richtung Wärme.
