SUITE VIEW GLOBAL ART PROJECT CHECKES INTO SO SOFITEL BANGKOK

The stunning views from SO Sofitel Bangkok will soon be immortalized by artist Jeannine Platz’s Suite View – a global art project which captures the world’s most iconic skylines and sceneries through a hotel suite’s window. During her temporary residency at SO Sofitel Bangkok in August 2016, Jeannine Platz will be producing two paintings from two different perspectives – a “Suite View Bangkok” from her SO Suite room for the global collection, and an additional work during a special live painting exhibition from the top of SO Sofitel Bangkok at Park Society Terrace.

“The views from our hotel, overlooking the lush expanse of Lumpini Park and the city skyline, are one of its stellar assets. We are delighted to welcome Jeannine Platz and honored to have this opportunity to capture this beautiful Bangkok cityscape for the world to see. We are especially excited to own a second piece of her artwork with the view from Park Society Terrace, which will be permanently on display in the SO VIP room once finished,” said Mr. Yves Mudry, General Manager of SO Sofitel Bangkok.

Using only her hands and a scraper, Jeannine Platz brings breathtaking city views to life on canvas – images that will be showcased at an exhibition in Hamburg in April 2017 and published in a premium art book. By the time she finishes the project, she will have documented views from suites in urban superstars including: Hong Kong, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Dubai, Mauritius, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, New York, Palm Springs, Oslo, Istanbul, Berlin, Moscow, London, Athens, Hamburg, Belgrade, Frankfurt, Cappadocia, Tokyo, Sydney, Bangkok, Maldives, Cape Town, Santorini, Lisbon, San Francisco, Vancouver, Chicago, and Venice.

Guests will be able to experience Jeannine Platz’s live painting performance on Wednesday 10 August 2016 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Park Society Terrace.

The live painting event coincides with HI-SO Ladies Night, which will be hosted at Park Society Terrace for this night only; female guests enjoy free-flow sparkling wine and cocktails from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Ladies, bubblies, music, and live art – perfect ingredients for an inspired evening out in the City of Angels.
